Hernani, October 9
Orona has established itself as one of the main European benchmarks in vertical mobility solutions. With more than 6,500 people in the team, the company represents a socio-business project that combines international competitiveness with strong local commitment.
In an increasingly volatile and complex global landscape, the cooperative remains firmly committed to consolidating a robust and competitive socio-business project in Europe, capable of facing future challenges with solidity and confidence.
Orona EU 2030 Roadmap
Orona is currently making steady progress towards its Orona EU 2030 Roadmap, aimed at consolidating the cooperative experience at the European level and achieving the objectives of 8,000 employees and €1.5 billion in sales. In this regard, Orona expects to close the 2025 financial year with positive results, a driven by significant investment and notable employment growth.
As part of this roadmap, the strategic BIL (Best In Lifts) project focuses on designing and developing Orona’s future industrial model. In this context, the evolution and strengthening of current production infrastructures take on special relevance given the increasing demand for elevators both now and in the future.
Commitment to the Future
Continuing its long-standing forward-thinking approach, Orona has acquired strategic land in Estubegi (Hernani), enabling the redesign of its future industrial infrastructure.
This new space will provide greater flexibility for integrating manufacturing processes, progressively adapting production capacity to future needs.
Additionally, the company will launch an action plan to complete the industrial deployment at the Jundiz (Vitoria-Gasteiz) site, involving the expansion of current production facilities and modernization of equipment, with an estimated investment exceeding €10 million.
These industrial developments will allow Orona to guarantee a competitive level of self-supply and reinforce its position as a global reference supplier in the elevator sector, while adapting its capabilities to evolving market demands.
Industrial Expansion in Estubegi (Hernani)
Estubegi is a strategic 60,000 m² site with 30,000 m² of buildable area, located within the same industrial and logistical ecosystem as Orona’s existing facilities. This will support the coordinated management of industrial capabilities and help strengthen Orona's competitive position globally.
Within the BIL (Best In Lifts) project, Orona will construct the new infrastructure at Estubegi progressively and in multiple phases. Once completed, it is estimated that the development will generate 150 new jobs and involve an investment of €60 million.

Institutional Collaboration
The General Deputy of Gipuzkoa, Eider Mendoza, placed Orona’s strategic commitment within the “leap in social and economic ambition” underway across the region, driven by “innovative projects and initiatives that, through collaboration, are laying the foundations for the industry of the future.” She emphasized the need for “audacity, anticipation and cooperation to protect and prepare our industry for the future,” and highlighted Orona’s path as the result of “innovation, well-executed work, and commitment to the region and its people.”
The Basque Government’s Minister of Industry, Energy Transition and Sustainability, Mikel Jauregi, stressed that “this initiative is a clear example of the industrial policy promoted by the Basque Government through our Industrial Plan, which fully supports the strengthening of our industrial fabric.” He noted that these efforts focus on “solid industrial projects with long-term vision, deeply rooted locally, with strong international projection and high innovative capacity.” He also pointed out that the investment will generate quality employment grounded in Orona’s cooperative model.
